Wrinkles, lines & creases:

As today's image-conscious population matures, greater numbers of patients are seeking procedures to improve or minimize photodamaged skin and aging skin. In todays technology market place there are a number of treatment options available dependent on your concerns and required corrections.

We are  able to remove or improve facial wrinkles, lines and scars using our ERBIUM/YAG LASER.  We can improve sun damaged, aging skin layer by layer, all during the same treatment visit. On the upper lip this procedure will eliminate the wrinkles and stop the bleeding of lipstick into the lip wrinkles. The ERBIUM/YAG laser uses high energy beams of light to vaporize or "paint away" lines, wrinkles and other skin defects. The laser light penetrates in a very precise, controlled depth, making the procedure safe and predictable while reducing the risk of scarring or pigmentation changes. The end result is smoother, fresher, younger looking skin. 

PRO-FRACTIONAL lasers make micro ablation channels deep into the dermis. These thermal "injuries" promote new collagen formation effectively. Multiple treatments are required and down time or healing time is minimal. Improvements are noticed in 7-10 days following treatment.

This technology is good for fine lines and wrinkles are very effective for acne scarring.

How many Laser Peels can be done?
A good result depends upon adherence to the prescribed preoperative and postoperative treatment regimes. Dr. Kriel can advise you on how best to protect your skin to maintain the benefits you will see from your procedure. Further treatments may be required, depending on the degree of correction you are trying to achieve. Typically the procedure can be repeated 2-4 times, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, if required.

How long is recovery time?
The healing process takes 3-12 days on average. This is dependant on the depth of the peel.  Sun exposure is to be avoided. Make up can be applied once the skin has stopped shedding and has a barrier protection again (usually day 4).
