Many people are uncomfortable with tattoos they applied several years ago.
The removal consists of placing a laser handpiece against the surface of the skin and activating the laser. The degree of discomfort varies with each person. Topical or local anesthetics can be applied. Several treatments are required at 6 - 8week intervals.
Lasers work by emitting pulses of light energy this is absorbed by the hair follicles, the heat destroys the cells responsible for growing new hair.
Regular predetermined treatments are necessary to achieve results. It is usual that it takes 6-8 treatments to achieve results. It is usual 15% of your hair will remain, which will be finer, thinner and lighter.
When treating leg veins, sclerotherapy injection is the front line treatment. When Dr. Kriel has determined the injections have been successful he may wish to finish your treatment with laser therapy. Lasers are most effective for the small tiny vessels which are ineffectively treated by injection due to the small structure left to absorb solutions. Several treatments may be required.
Rosacea
Rosacea refers to a range of symptoms that generally start with some blushing or modest redness of the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Rosacea absolutely gets worse if you don't treat it.
While there is currently no cure for rosacea it can be managed quite effectively with oral and topical antibiotics and lasers.
We are able to remove or improve facial wrinkles, lines and scars using CO2 laser technology(ultrapulse fractional CO2). The laser uses high energy beams of light to vaporize the skin defects. It ablates the top layers of tissue while creating micro channels deep into the dermis to stimulate new collagen growth, resulting in smoother younger looking skin.
Intense pulse light or IPL treatments improve the appearance of pigmented lesions and vessels of the skin.
Pigmented lesions occur in response to sun damage and appear as dark brown areas.
Vascular lesions and facial veins are superficial blue, red, or purple veins under the skin's surface.
Many people have vascular faces, it is the appearance of tiny red vessels usually in the centre of the face. The cause for this is usually a combination of heredity and sun damage.
Treating the vessels with laser will leave the face less red and reactive. Often 3-5 sessions are required.
